This well known tale of a little girl who falls down a rabbit hole and meets a variety of weird and wonderful creatures. Written by Lewis Caroll, Alice finds herself in a magical world of birds, hedgehogs, mock turtles, doormice and a lobster. In this version there are 3 version of Alice, played by Isabella Beaston, Chloe Ryder and Eve Edgoose-Clubley, with Bea Edgoose-Clubley playing the White Rabbit, who’s always in a hurry.

The Mad Hatter and the March Hare are brilliantly played by sisters Charlotte and Neo Hook – with Neo having also made the fantastic puppets that also tell the story. The meet the Cheshire Cat, Evie Legender and the Queen of Hearts, Sophie Richards.

The wonderful play features all of our SPYS and has been directed by Thomas Guest and Sarah Atkinson.

The SPYS (Sedgefield Players Youth Section) meet every Sunday in the Parish Hall in Sedgefield. Any child aged 7 plus is welcome to join: there is no weekly fee or audition but yearly subs are £10.

Our ethos as a group is ‘Drama for all’. We hope to encourage young people to develop skills as performers, but also as people, with a great emphasis on friendship, team-work, honesty, collaboration and confidence.

We use a mixture of games, performance techniques, singing classes, dance classes and acting workshops to get the most out of our SPYS.
